The 1970 U.S.O

USO Ch. Yazoo Kelly Rose by Robbin Collins ex U.S.O. of Yazoo Baby Rose a remarkable fox
hound, was whelped February 26, 1967. She was bred by the Yazoo Foxhound Kennels of
Vaughan, Miss., a kennel that is so wellknown for the breeding of the better fox hounds in
America. The owner, A. N. Nichols, jr (known as Sonny Boy Nichols), has long been a partner with
his wellknown father, A. N. Nichols, Sr., of Vaughan, Miss.

Back in 1968, she was a sensational winner in the Miss. La. Derby field--the same year she ran in
the U.S.O. and was the highest scoring foxhound until roll call the last day. Unfortunately, she
along with 40 other hounds had to be answered lost.

In 1969 she won the all American Field Trial at Corinth, Miss. Also winning the same year the Miss.
State field championship with 400 H.G.A. points. This U.S.O. Champion Yazoo Kelly Rose is a
tough, game and fast working foxhound, with plenty of speed and fox sense to produce her game
and drive hard to the finish. She is thought of as the greatest foxhound of the Yazoo Kennels
since the great Hawk Hill winner of the Chase Futurity and national championship. She won this
1970 U.S.O. championship the same year that she whelped two litters of puppies.
