Tribute from an old timer
Paola, Kans, 12-22
A great admirer of S. L. Wooldridge the one Kentuckian who indeed and in truth, was always in
the market for the best grade of hounds to be found. Sam gave credit (to hounds) where credit
was due, and he knew when it was due. It will be a long time before his organization locates
another Sam Wooldridge. It will be about as long as it would be to find hounds like Big Stride
500, Low Cloud 9261 and Flying Cloud 8385. I’ve lived in the same house fifty-seven years, 408
E. Wea St., Paola, Kansas. Hence I take notice how quickly one generation follows another to
the grave. I live on block 104. I can stand at any cross street in Paola, look in four directions,
and every house has changed occupants. These elderly people are gone and another
generation that knew them not has taken their place. L. E. Lay
