Pontotoc Ridge Ann All American Champ

The All American Running Hound field trial was run February 3-8, 1974 in Corinth, Mississippi.

This is the trial where the real Pro's run their best hounds, everyone is strictly business, serious and
anxious to win this coveted award.

There were 138 entries and everyone agreed these were the best looking field hounds they had ever seen
assembled at a field trial. The hounds were alert, agile, in good running condition and ready to go when
cast. The running was good and there were plenty of foxes.

The entire trials and all meetings were well organized and carried out by president Billy Kennedy. howard
Tilson from Lexington, Ky. did an outstanding job as master of hound, while Sonny Jacob of Dallas, Texas
did his usual good job judging the bench show.

There were 16 states represented this year and most all of the original organizers of this hunt were present
except Norwood Nichols, who was certainly missed by everyone. He could not be there due to illness in his
family; however, he made a great contribution to this organization by donating six beautiful young hounds
(USO Ch Yazoo Tom Chuck ex Ch Yazoo Kelly Rose) to the owners of the first HGA winners.

No. 147, Pontotoc Ridge Ann, owned by Pontotoc Ridge Kennels was crowned champion when the hunt was
completed. She was sold to L. L. Hartfield, Purvis, Miss. after the hunt.

No. 50, Moody's Julie, owned by Jewel Moody of Center, Texas won the bench show.

James Burke of Henderson, Texas was elected president for the coming year and you may be assured that
with this gentleman at the helm there will be another good trial in 1975.
