Stone J. Crane
The 1968 U.S.O. held at Durant, Miss. the week of Dec. 2, 1968 saw the largest entry in its history
1946-1968. The final count was 229 foxhounds entered from many areas of the U.S.
The score board was a well-filled one each day showing a well-covered field by the 30 field judges
under the direction of Master of Hounds Gerald Simmons of Clarksville, Virginia.

Again we see a top bred hound. This man Holman is no "fly by night" foxhunter at field trials. He
has been knocking at the U.S.O. Championship for some time and is a well known foxhunter.
The champion knocked along in all classification. He was first in Endurance, Second in Trailing,
Third in Hunting and Fifth in Speed & Driving, a well rounded dependable foxhound, one to be
proud of and one to join the great ranks of U.S.O. Champions.
